"My teacher just gifted me the Ihya of Imam al-Ghazali. Really big moment for me. I've been reading from this book in translation for nearly a decade. To read it in the language of origin is a goal I've always held at heart. It is 40 books/chapters relating to every aspect of the outward and inward life of a human being. There is a book relating to Eating, Fasting, Marriage, Prayer, Friendship, Earning a Livelihood & books on various vices and virtues of the soul. Each book explains how the human being can approach that aspect of existence in order to reach enlightenment and realization of the Prophetic Way. It all leads back to the heart - the 21st book. Right in the center (and just to the left) like the heart sits in the body. He advances that every aspect of life, if we are living according to the teachings of the Prophets and Sages, should (indeed must) draw us nearer to the divine presence. It is not about transcending the mundane, instead it is about allowing the sublime to permeate every element of life. Chop wood, carry water. Pour tea, serve guests while swimming in the infinite ocean of the Ultimately Real as veils of illusion emanating from the ego self are rent asunder & the light of Spirit continues to expand the breast. Light on! Duas."
For so many years of my life I studied people. The art of converting thoughts into golden dreams was too fascinating to pass unnoticed by someone coming face-to-face with magic for the first time within me. I confess that the knowing of life was attracted me most. Before I heard and felt the presence of MY GOD, the idea of everything one day coming to an end used to drive me to despair. I decided to dedicate myself, body and soul, to making my reality to GOD’S LOVE.
